Ken Drake has been practicing architecture for over 40 years and has been a leader in the industry's largest and most prestigious architectural and architecture-engineering (A-E) design firms.   Ken has been directly involved with and has led planning and design teams in the successful execution of over 120 award-winning and significant projects for some 60 clients, including private corporations, universities and academic institutions, as well as US Federal, State and Foreign Government agencies and entities, in eight countries.   Ken’s planning and design efforts total more than 12 Million gross square feet (gsf) of designed and built space.

Ken’s leadership directing successful outcomes for major, highly technical and complex facilities has honed and refined his skills in programming, planning, forecasting and managing the process to create predictable outcomes for quality, cost and delivery.

Ken Drake has been involved in over 12 Million gsf of planned and executed facilities worldwide, which has included the strategic planning, programming and master planning for over 20 research, headquarters and manufacturing campuses.  The strategic planning for many of these began as initial program-based parametric cost models, used to create a realistic budget, which were used to both guide the master planning process and shape initial concepts, as well as become a roadmap to execute initial projects and future phases of build-out.

Ken’s strategic planning efforts were used to shape private investments, congressional funding and university budget parameters (Total Project Budgets) for such significant projects as: USAMRIID’s Replacement ($1.1 B); Tesla’s RiverBend Solar Gigafactory-2 ($1.2 B); Johns Hopkins Bayview Research Center ($488 M) and NJEDA – International Center for Public Health ($92 M), as examples.
